Quality Engineering of Your Layered 3D House Shadowbox

Quality is essential for projects involving multiple stacked layers. Consequently, we have handcrafted every component from premium MDF. The frames and house bodies are cut from 6mm thick material to ensure the shadowbox is rigid and won’t warp once glued. Furthermore, the 2mm embellishment pieces provide delicate architectural details that would be impossible to achieve with thicker wood.

We recommend superglue to put these together. There is also a name plate included in these kits if you want to use it.

Expert Decoration of Your 3D Shadowbox Kit

We have designed this kit to be user-friendly for all skill levels. Because all pieces come separate, you can paint every corner without worrying about overlapping colours. In addition to standard acrylic paints, you can enhance your Layered 3D House Shadowbox using these tips:

• Bold Colours: Apply a thin layer of varnish to the MDF before using paint pens. This prevents the wood from soaking up the ink, resulting in much bolder, more vibrant colours.

• Detailing: We recommend using fine-tip paint pens for the small 2mm window and door embellishments.

• Assembly:

• 1. Glue the 3  frames together and onto the base .

• 2. The houses are 2 layered. Plain bottom and lasered window top. However for the wide house place the small square as your base house. Add a bracket each end of the small square then place the top lasered window house on top. You,ll find combined they are the same width.

• 3. The 2mm embellishments come with tabs in place holding them in the board. Simply pop these out. May require a bit of sandpaper where the tabs have been.

• 4.  Add your roof pieces doors and shutters. Please refer to gallery pictures where to place these.
